Increase in Thyroid Cancer in U.S. Attributed to Improved Early Detection 

Although the incidence of thyroid cancer has more than doubled in the past 30 years, the rise is being attributed to improved diagnostic techniques of previously undetected disease, rather than a true increase in the occurrence of thyroid cancer.
